Use the Split view and the live floor plan
Split view puts the reservation list next to a live floor plan. It is the main screen for seating guests: you see who is arriving, which tables are free, and you can drag a booking onto a table.
Where to find it
Host App › Service View › Split button (columns icon). On a phone the floor plan is under View › Floor.
What it does
Left: reservation list
- Reservations for the selected date and shift, with time, guest, party size, table and section, status and icons (notes, allergies, VIP, payments…).
- Per row: Seat (from 15 minutes before until 30 minutes after the booked time, today only), No-Show (once the grace time has passed, see Settings), and Complete and clear tables for seated parties.
- A Next arrivals summary and a Seat a walk-in block ("Tap a party size, then choose a highlighted table").
- Toolbar (hidden in Simple mode): Focus mode (today only: shows only reservations that need action now), compact view, sorting (time, party size, table number, name), grouping by time slot, and a conflicts button: View conflicts (…) and capacity warnings (…).
- Needs table assignment: reservations without a table, with an Assign button (see "Give tables to reservations that have none").
Right: floor plan
- Tables are drawn as on your Backoffice floor plan, coloured by state at the selected time: available, occupied, or Free until a time. A table that will be occupied within 15 minutes is marked.
- Section tabs when you have more than one section.
- Zoom in / out and Fit Screen; scroll or pinch to zoom.
- Configure table labels: choose what the top and bottom label of each table show (table number, capacity, covers, guest name, next reservation, next reservation time, countdown to next reservation, time seated, or nothing) and whether to Always show next reservation.
- Time bar under the floor plan: drag it to see the floor at another time today, or tap Jump to current time. It can show an occupancy graph and expand into the Inflow view (arrivals per slot, with a squeeze preview).
How to seat a booking on a table
- Drag the reservation from the list onto a table, or select the reservation and tap a table.
- If the party needs more seats, keep tapping tables until everyone fits; the placement that completes the party saves automatically.
- A Reservation Seated card appears for 15 seconds with the guest's details, a Quick Table Change option and Undo Seating.
Good to know
- Tapping a table opens its panel: current party, upcoming bookings, and actions such as Seat Walk-In, Create Reservation, Assign Reservation, Block Table, Move Party and Mark Finished.
- The floor plan stays where you left it when you select something. To have it pan to the selected table, turn on Settings › Tables › Focus selected table.
- Scroll/pinch zoom strength: Settings › Tables › Floor plan scroll zoom.
- Settings › Tables › Split list: show full notes writes notes and requests out in the list instead of showing icons.
- How a table with several bookings is drawn can be tried out in Settings › Beta (unfinished options).
Troubleshooting
The Seat button is missing on a reservation In the list, Seat only appears from 15 minutes before to 30 minutes after the booked time on today's date. Open the reservation and use Seat or the status menu instead, or drag the booking onto a table.
The floor plan is empty or shows "Add tables first" No tables or floor plan are set up for this location, or the selected section has no tables. Tables are created in Backoffice › Table Management › Floor Plan.
A table cannot be selected for a walk-in or booking It is blocked (tap the table and choose Unblock Table), or it is already taken at that time. If it is too small, add more tables until the whole party is covered.
Focus mode button is greyed out Focus mode only works when you view today.
The time bar or inflow graph is missing They can be switched off in Settings › General › Display mode (Time bar, Time bar graph, Inflow view).
