Gift vouchers in the Host App (overview)

When gift vouchers are enabled for your location, hosts can sell, look up and redeem vouchers from the Host App, and link a voucher to the guest's reservation.

Where to find it

• Host App › Gift Vouchers in the menu.
• In a reservation: More › Link gift voucher…, and the Gift vouchers section of the details pane.
• Global Search also finds vouchers by code.

What it does

• Gift Vouchers page: totals (Total, Active, Redeemed, Expired, Active Value), search, a status filter (All Status, Active, Redeemed, Expired, Cancelled), and a card per voucher with recipient, buyer, original and remaining amount, expiry and message.
• Create Voucher: payment method Cash, Card or Pay now (the customer pays by QR code through Mollie), amount, Recipient Email (required), optional name, customer code, expiry date and message.
• Redeem voucher: Partial or Full, with a warning for expired vouchers.
• Change expiry date (+3 months, +6 months, +1 year or a date), View transaction history, Resend email.
• Link to reservation / Link gift voucher…: attach a voucher to a booking. Linking does not charge the voucher; redeem it when the bill is settled.

• The menu item is hidden in Simple display mode; turn on Gift vouchers in Settings › General › Display mode (Menu).

Troubleshooting

The menu shows Gift Vouchers greyed out with "Upgrade" Gift vouchers are not enabled for this location ("Enable Gift Vouchers in Settings"). An admin turns the add-on on in Backoffice › Settings › Add-ons.

"Gift Vouchers Not Enabled" Same cause: the feature is off for this location. Contact your administrator.

"Please enter a valid email address" when creating A recipient email is required to create a voucher.

"Amount cannot exceed remaining balance of …" You tried to redeem more than is left on the voucher. Redeem the remaining balance and settle the rest another way.
