Work on a day that is closed

Included in all plansHost AppFor hosts

Needs: Any staff user

When you open a date that is closed in your opening hours, or closed with a day override, the Host App says so before you start working. You can open the day for online bookings right there, or keep it closed and still manage bookings.

Where to find it

Host App › Service View on a closed date. The date in the header is marked Closed and a This day is closed panel covers the service screen.

What it does

  • The panel explains why: "This day is closed in your weekly operating hours." or "This date is marked closed (special day override)."
  • Open this day opens the date for online reservations. You confirm in "Open for online reservations?": "Confirming saves this day like Day Planner: guests can book online for this date unless you change it later in Day Planner or location settings." Tap Confirm and open (or Back). "Day is now open" confirms it.
  • Manage while closed hides the panel so you can see and manage the day's bookings while it stays closed online.

How to open a closed day

  1. Go to the date in the Service View.
  2. Tap Open this day.
  3. Tap Confirm and open.

If the weekday is normally closed, the day is opened with shifts copied from your regular opening hours. If it was closed with a day override, the closure is lifted.

How to take a booking on a closed day without opening it

  1. Tap Manage while closed.
  2. Create the reservation as usual with +. The form warns "Watch out — you're booking on a day that is closed. You can still reserve."

Good to know

  • Opening the day here is the same as reopening it in Backoffice › Planning › Service Calendar; you can close it again there.
  • A single shift can be closed or reopened for the day in Availability (see "Manage a day's availability in the Host App").
  • A shift that is closed for new bookings shows a hint on its chip in the header; existing reservations are still shown.

Troubleshooting

"Add opening hours on at least one weekday in location settings, or open the day from Day Planner." There are no regular shifts to copy. Add opening hours in Backoffice › Settings › Location hours and shifts, or open the day from the Service Calendar with custom hours.

"Could not open this day" The change could not be saved. Check your connection and try again, or open the day in the Backoffice.

"Cannot open day: missing location or company" The Host App has no location loaded. Reload the app; check that your user has a primary location.

Guests still can't book online after opening the day Check the day's booking cut-offs, booking window and the time slots in Availability. Online availability may also take a moment to update.
