Host App settings: display mode, service views and header
The General tab of the Host App settings decides how much the app shows during service. These choices are stored on the device, so the host-stand tablet can be simple while the manager's laptop shows everything.
Where to find it
Host App › Settings › General.
What it does
Display mode ("Choose how much information the Host App shows during service. Applies only on this device.")
- Simple – "Just the essentials — time, party size, guest name, and requests always in view." Hides analytics, guest CRM and power-user tools, writes notes out as text and makes the essentials bigger. Switching to Simple opens the Timeline once.
- Advanced (default) – "All tools, analytics, and guest detail — the full Host App experience."
- Custom – pick each feature yourself. Changing any toggle switches the device to Custom, starting from what is on screen. Enable all / Disable all, Expand all / Collapse all.
The Features toggles, by group:
- Guest & reservation info: Guest profiles & history, Payments & POS, Post-visit reviews, Reservation labels, Guest messaging, Booking source & extra info, Status history.
- Service header: Shift filters & stats, Search, Sections & online booking, Fullscreen button.
- Reservation lists: List filters & sorting.
- Timeline: Timeline toolbar, Timeline slot stats, Close time slots, Refined walk-in suggestions.
- Floor plan: Time bar, Time bar graph, Inflow view, Floor plan tools, Floor plan on phones.
- Menu: Dashboard, Gift vouchers, Email delivery, Shift brief, Reservation bin, Locations, Expandable sidebar.
- Presentation: Large essentials, Notes written out.
In Simple mode only the Time bar and Time bar graph stay on.
Service views – switch Floor plan (Split view on desktop, Floor on mobile), Timeline, List and Walk-in on or off. At least one stays on.
Service header (only with Reservation Experiences) – Shifts only, Shifts & experiences or Experiences only as filter chips.
General – Start of week (Monday or Sunday) and Time format (24-hour or 12-hour), with a preview.
How to simplify a host-stand tablet
- Open Settings › General on that tablet.
- Choose Simple, or Custom and switch off what the team never uses.
- Under Service views, switch off views the team doesn't need.
Good to know
- Settings are saved in the browser on that device. Clearing the browser data or using a private window resets them.
- The Walk-in view can only be switched on when the Walk-in seating add-on is on ("Turn on the Walk-in add-on in the backoffice (Settings → Add-ons) to offer this view.").
- Toggles that depend on another (Time bar graph, Inflow view) are disabled while the parent is off ("Only shown when "Time bar" is on.").
Troubleshooting
A colleague's tablet looks different from mine Display settings are per device. Set the same mode on each tablet.
My settings reset The browser's site data was cleared, or the app was opened in a private window or another browser.
A toggle cannot be switched off under Service views It is the last view still on: "Your last remaining view — turn another one on before switching this off."
The Service header options are missing They only appear when Reservation Experiences is enabled for the location.
