The Backoffice Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first page of the Backoffice: a daily command centre showing whether you are open, how busy the day is, who is arriving, and what needs attention.
Where to find it
Backoffice › Dashboard (top of the sidebar; also the page you land on after signing in).
What it does
- Setup tracker (while setup is not finished): "… things left before you can take bookings", the next area to do, and Continue.
- Status bar: a greeting, Today, Open now / Closed with "Opens at …" / "Closes at …", a short weather forecast (morning, noon, evening), and "… to clear (not today)" when seated reservations from earlier days were never completed.
- Date filter to look at another day.
- Staff day notes banner for the selected date.
- Capacity opportunity: where shortening or regrouping could add capacity (View all … →).
- Squeeze card: switch squeeze mode on or off for the selected day, set the squeeze duration (or keep the default from Settings), preview the extra capacity ("+… gaps found, +… table options (+… covers)") and set it Per shift.
- Schedule ("Reservations and capacity for the selected day"): a day timeline.
- Today at a glance: Today's shifts, Today's Info (Allergens, Requests, Regulars, Conflicts – click to see the list), experiences of the day, KPIs (Total Covers, Reservations, Seated, Completed) and Upcoming Arrivals (sortable and groupable by shift, party size or status, with notes, visits and email timeline).
How to use it before service
- Check Open now and the weather.
- Read the Staff day notes.
- Open Allergens and Requests in Today's Info to brief the kitchen.
- Open Conflicts to fix overlapping bookings (click a booking to edit it).
- Clear stale seated reservations if "… to clear (not today)" appears.
Good to know
- Clicking a reservation in a detail list opens it on the Reservations page for editing.
- Squeeze changes apply to the selected date only and affect online availability.
- For live service on a tablet use the Host App; its own Dashboard is a compact version for phones.
Troubleshooting
"Tip: Add your location's city and country in Settings → Location to enable weather data." Complete the address in Backoffice › Settings › Location Settings.
"Weather forecast is only available for the next 14 days" Pick a date within the next two weeks.
"… to clear (not today)" Seated reservations from earlier days were never completed (often when auto-complete is off). Click it to open them and complete them.
"Failed to update squeeze mode" The change was not saved. Try again; check your connection.
"No reservations today" No bookings exist for the selected date yet; shifts appear when reservations are made.
