Show a day note banner to the team

Included in all plansHost AppFor managers

Needs: Creating and editing in the Host App needs "Manage locations" (Owner and Admin by default); everyone sees the banners

A day note is a coloured banner that appears at the top of the Service View on a given date, for example "Private party upstairs from 19:00" or "Fish of the day: sea bass". Notes can be shown at all your locations or only at selected ones.

Where to find it

  • To create or edit: Host App › Day notes in the menu (page Day note banners). Only shown to users with the "Manage locations" permission.
  • In the Backoffice: the Day notes (front of house) panel in the Planning › Service Calendar day view ("Visible in the host app to staff. Scope to all locations or selected ones.").
  • To see them: the banner shows under the Service View header for the selected date, and on the Backoffice Dashboard as Staff day notes.

What it does

  • Each banner has a Date, a text, a Banner color and a scope: All locations or a selection of Locations.
  • The Service View shows every note that applies to the current location and the selected date, one banner per note.
  • The Day note banners page lists all banners by date with Edit and Delete.

How to add a day note banner

  1. Open Host App › Day notes.
  2. Tap Add banner.
  3. Choose the Date.
  4. Write the note ("Write a note for this day…").
  5. Pick a Banner color.
  6. Choose All locations or tick the Locations it applies to.
  7. Tap Save.

How to edit or remove a banner

  1. Find the banner in the list and tap Edit, change it and Save.
  2. Or tap Delete and confirm "Delete this day note?".

Good to know

  • Banners are read-only for hosts in the Service View; nobody can dismiss them for the team.
  • Day notes are shared across the company: a note scoped to All locations shows in every location's Host App.
  • For a note about one booking, use the reservation's internal notes instead.

Troubleshooting

"Please enter a note." The text is empty. Type a message before saving.

"Select at least one location, or all locations." Choose All locations or tick at least one location.

"Please choose a valid date." Pick a date in the date field.

Day notes is not in my menu Your role does not have the "Manage locations" permission, or Locations is hidden in Display mode on this device. Ask an owner or admin, or add the note from the Backoffice Service Calendar.

The banner does not show in the Service View Check that the Service View is on the note's date and that the note includes this location.
