Good to know

  • Open the back office only controls the Backoffice. The Host App is not affected. Every built-in role has it. See "Give someone Host App access only".
  • Manage users and invitations shows Users and Roles & Permissions in Settings and lets someone invite people and change roles and locations. Only Owners and Admins can hand out admin-level roles. See "Who can change roles".
  • Manage subscription and billing is the only permission Admins don't have. It shows Subscription Management.
  • Manage locations shows Manage Locations on multi-location accounts and lets someone switch location in the Host App.
  • Edit general and location settings is needed for MCP Access.
  • Manage pacing settings is needed to change pacing, including the pacing controls in the Host App.
  • Open or close time slots, sections and days (day overrides) lets someone close a slot or a section for one day, also from the Host App.
  • Create, edit, and delete tables and sections lets someone change tables. A custom role with this permission can edit tables even though it is not Admin tier.

Troubleshooting

A button is greyed out or missing for a colleague Their role doesn't include the permission for it. Check their role on Roles & Permissions, then give them a role that has it. If they have a different role at this location, check that one in HQ › User Management.

A colleague sees "You do not have the required permissions for this action" when saving The screen let them try, but their role doesn't include the permission needed to save that change. Give them a role that includes it.
