Use floor plan versions (alternative layouts)

A floor plan version is a copy of a section's layout that you can change on its own, for example a "Summer Layout" with extra terrace tables or an "Event Setup" with tables removed. The version set as default is the one used for bookings.

Where to find it

Backoffice › Table Management › Floor Plan › select a section › Versions › Manage.

What it does

The Floor Plan Versions window ("Create and manage floor plan versions") lets you:

  • Create New Version: give it a name (for example "Summer Layout") and choose Copy from version. It "creates a copy of the selected floor plan version that you can modify independently".
  • Load a version to view and edit it on the floor plan. While you view a version, a Viewing Version notice shows.
  • Set as Default / Remove Default: the default version is the layout 10Seat uses for that section. Without a default, the Base Version is used.

Inside a version you can move and resize tables and decoration, and Hide in Version / Unhide in Version a table. Hidden tables are not bookable while that version is in use, online or by automatic assignment. Use Show Hidden Tables to find them again.

How to prepare a summer layout

  1. Open the section in Table Management › Floor Plan.
  2. Under Versions, click Manage › Create New Version, name it "Summer Layout", copy from the base version and click Create.
  3. Load it, rearrange tables, and hide the ones you won't use. Click Save floor plan.
  4. When summer starts, open Manage again and click Set as Default on "Summer Layout".

Good to know

  • New tables can only be added to the Base Version. A table you add later starts hidden in every existing version; unhide it in each version where you want it.
  • Seats, minimum party size and online-bookable settings are taken from the version when it has its own values, otherwise from the base table.
  • Choosing a different version for a single date is not available in the Service Calendar at the moment. Switch the default when the period starts and ends.
  • Changing the default version refreshes the widget's availability in the background.

Troubleshooting

"Tables can only be added to the base floor plan." / "Cannot add tables to a floor plan version." Switch to the Base Version, add the table, then go back to the version and unhide it.

A new table can't be booked although it shows in the base plan A version is set as default for that section and the new table is hidden in it. Load the version and click Unhide in Version on the table.

"Cannot load version: base floor plan not found" / "Failed to load floor plan version" Reload the page. If it keeps happening, contact 10Seat support.

Guests can book tables that should be removed for an event The version with those tables hidden is not the default. Click Set as Default on it.
