Connect MultiSafepay to take online payments

Included in all plans; you need your own MultiSafepay accountBackofficeFor owners

Needs: Owner or Admin

If your restaurant uses MultiSafepay instead of Mollie, connect it with your site API key. Guests then pay deposits, ticket prices and payment links on a 10Seat payment page secured by MultiSafepay.

Where to find it

  • Connection: Backoffice › Settings › Payments › MultiSafepay
  • Company details: Backoffice › Settings › Location Settings › Business & billing details

What it does

  • Connects the selected location to your MultiSafepay site with an API key.
  • Guests pay on a branded page with your restaurant name, a booking summary and a countdown of how long the table is held. The footer reads "Secured by MultiSafepay · powered by 10Seat".
  • Only one provider can be active per location: MultiSafepay or Mollie.

How to set it up

  1. Select the location in the header.
  2. In your MultiSafepay dashboard, copy the site API key for the website you use for 10Seat.
  3. In Settings › Payments, under MultiSafepay, choose the Environment: Test or Live. Test and live keys only work in their own environment.
  4. Paste the API key and click Test key. You should see "API key is valid".
  5. Click Save & connect. The page shows Connected (Live) or Connected (Test).
  6. Fill in your company details under Location Settings › Business & billing details: Statutory company name, Company registration number, Registered office and Contact email (the VAT number is optional but must include the country code, for example BE0123456789). Payment providers such as MultiSafepay require these before a gift card shop can go live, and they appear on your terms and privacy pages.

Good to know

  • Saving MultiSafepay disconnects Mollie for that location ("Saving MultiSafepay will disconnect Mollie for this location. Continue?").
  • The payment methods offered to guests depend on your MultiSafepay account and the country of your location's address.
  • To switch from Test to Live, choose Live, paste the live key and click Save & connect again.
  • Disconnect stops online payments for that location.

Troubleshooting

"API key test failed" The key belongs to the other environment (a test key with Live selected, or the reverse), or it was copied incompletely. Pick the matching Environment and paste the key again.

"Your gift card shop is missing required company details" One of the required fields in Business & billing details is empty. The warning lists which ones.

"This doesn't look like a valid VAT number. Include the country code, e.g. BE0123456789." Add the two-letter country code in front of the number.

Guests see "Your payment was declined. Try again, or choose another payment method." The bank or card refused the payment. The guest can try again on the same page; this never creates a second reservation.

Guests only see a few payment methods Activate more methods in your MultiSafepay dashboard, and check the country in your location address.
