Connect an AI assistant with MCP Access
MCP Access lets you connect your own AI assistant (any assistant that supports remote connectors through the Model Context Protocol, such as Claude) to one 10Seat location, so you can ask it questions like "how many covers do we have booked on Friday?". Access is read-only.
Where to find it
Backoffice › Settings › Integrations section › MCP Access. The card only appears while 10Seat has MCP Access enabled for the selected location, and only for users with the permission "Edit general and location settings".
What it does
The assistant can read, for this location only:
- Location details (address, timezone, contact)
- Reservations, including guest name and contact details
- POS orders and revenue (Lightspeed)
- Menu products, categories and stock
- Gift voucher validity and balance
It cannot:
- Create, change or cancel anything
- See other locations or other companies
- Check table availability
- Keep working after access is disabled, expires, or the link is revoked
The page shows whether access is enabled and until when ("Enabled until …. After that date, all MCP keys for this location stop working automatically.").
How to connect your assistant
- On the MCP Access page, under How to connect your assistant, click Copy next to the address.
- In your AI assistant, open its connectors screen and paste the address. In Claude, for example: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it "10Seat".
- Your assistant opens a 10Seat page. Sign in with your backoffice account, choose the location under Give access to, and click Approve access (or Deny).
- Ask a question.
If your assistant can't sign in to connectors: under Connector links, click Create connector link. Copy the link right away — it is shown only once — paste it into your assistant's connectors screen, then click I saved the link.
Good to know
- Each approved connection and each connector link appears in the list on this page; click Revoke to cut access off immediately. Revoking can't be undone.
- A maximum of 3 active connector links per location applies.
- Use Test next to a link to check it works; the list shows when each link was created and last used.
- Treat connector links like passwords: whoever has one can read this location's reservations, including guest names and contact details.
- No account with any AI vendor is linked to 10Seat; access uses a 10Seat key.
Troubleshooting
I don't see MCP Access in Settings It is not enabled for this location, or your role lacks "Edit general and location settings". MCP Access is a beta that 10Seat enables per location on request — contact your 10Seat representative.
"MCP access for this location has expired." The beta period ended and all keys stopped working. Ask 10Seat to extend it.
"MCP access is not enabled for any of your locations." when approving in the assistant None of your locations has MCP Access on. Contact 10Seat, then connect again.
"This connection request is invalid or has expired." Close the page and start the connection again from your assistant.
I lost the connector link It can't be shown again. Revoke it and create a new one.
The assistant can't tell me whether a table is free Table availability is deliberately not available through MCP. Use the Host app or your booking widget.
