Connect Lightspeed L-Series and choose sync settings
Connect your Lightspeed L-Series account to a 10Seat location, choose whether reservations are pushed to the POS, and protect your tables against duplicate receipts.
Where to find it
Backoffice › Settings › Integrations › POS integration › tab L-Series (Lightspeed POS).
What it does
- Connection — a secure Lightspeed sign-in per location. When connected you see Lightspeed Connected — "Your Lightspeed L-Series account is connected and syncing data." Tokens refresh automatically.
- Seating opens the table — when you seat a guest in 10Seat on a mapped table, 10Seat opens that table on the POS. This happens whenever the connection is active, even with reservation push off. If the guest paid a deposit through 10Seat, it is added to the bill as a payment when the table opens.
- Receipts come back — receipts are linked to the reservation. When a receipt is paid, its total is written to the reservation and the guest profile (visits, total and average spend, items ordered), and you see it under POS receipts on the guest profile.
- Push reservations to Lightspeed (optional) — "every reservation created or updated in 10Seat will automatically be synced to Lightspeed as a POS reservation, including guest details."
- Prevent duplicate receipts (optional) — if staff open the receipt on the POS themselves around the time you seat, 10Seat uses that receipt instead of opening a second one, and attaches it to the booking you just seated.
How to set it up
- Open the L-Series (Lightspeed POS) tab with the right location selected.
- Click Connect to Lightspeed, sign in to Lightspeed and approve. You return with "Lightspeed account connected successfully!"
- Map your floors and tables below (see "Map L-Series floors and tables").
- Under Sync Settings, decide on Push reservations to Lightspeed. Read the notes first: Lightspeed requires an exact match on guest data, and every reservation needs a guest name and phone number, or it may fail to sync.
- Turn on Prevent duplicate receipts if your staff often open receipts on the POS before 10Seat does. Then set Use a receipt opened within 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes of seating the guest (default 10 minutes).
Good to know
- With Prevent duplicate receipts on, a prepaid deposit is not added automatically when your staff opened the receipt first — apply it on the POS as usual.
- Keep the matching window close to how long your POS really takes. Too wide, and a receipt the previous party left open on that table can be picked up instead.
- On venues with a Lightspeed server on site (Liteserver), opening the table can take up to a couple of minutes after you press Seat.
- Disconnect Lightspeed asks "Are you sure you want to disconnect Lightspeed? This will remove all POS sync capabilities."
Troubleshooting
"Only admins can connect POS integrations." Ask a user with the Admin role to connect.
"Lightspeed POS add-on is not enabled for this location." Contact 10Seat support to enable Lightspeed POS for this location.
One table ends up with two receipts for the same party Staff opened a receipt on the POS while 10Seat was still opening its own. Turn on Prevent duplicate receipts and pick a window that matches your POS.
A reservation didn't appear in Lightspeed Check Push reservations to Lightspeed is on and the reservation has both a guest name and a phone number.
Seating a guest doesn't open the table on the POS The 10Seat table isn't mapped to a Lightspeed table, or the connection is not active. In the Host app the reservation shows "POS: seating failed" — map the table, then retry from the reservation.
The deposit isn't on the bill Adding the deposit is best effort and can be refused by the POS, and it is skipped when staff opened the receipt first. Apply it on the POS by hand; contact 10Seat support if it happens every time.
