Set the time slot interval and close individual times

Needs: Edit widget configuration (Owner and Admin by default)

The time slot interval decides which arrival times the widget offers (18:00, 18:15, 18:30… or 18:00, 18:30…). You can also close specific times of a shift for online booking on every day, for example "never take arrivals at 20:00".

Where to find it

Backoffice › Settings › Widget Management › Booking Rules tab:

  • Time Slot Interval (global default).
  • Per-Shift Customization › click a shift › Time Slot Interval and Per-slot availability override.

What it does

  • Time Slot Interval: 15, 30, 45, 60 or 120 minutes. The default is 30. Times start at the shift's opening time and step by the interval until just before closing time (or until the Last Booking Slot Time).
  • Per shift, Time Slot Interval can Use global default or its own value.
  • Per-slot availability override: switch it on to close individual times for that shift. Each time is a button: "Open — bookable. Click to close." / "Closed — not bookable. Click to reopen." Use Open all or Close all. Closed times are removed from the widget and can't be booked online.
  • Show "Until" Time: show the end time next to each slot so guests know how long they can stay, with optional per-slot overrides.

How to stop online arrivals at 20:00 every day

  1. Open Settings › Widget Management › Booking Rules › Per-Shift Customization.
  2. Click the dinner shift and switch on Per-slot availability override.
  3. Click 20:00 so it shows as closed.
  4. Click Save theme in the "You have unsaved changes" bar.

Good to know

  • To close a time for one date only, use Availability in the Host App (Time slots tab) instead.
  • The interval also sets the pacing slots: pacing counts arrivals per interval.
  • Experience fixed start times must fall on this grid, or guests will never see them.
  • If you change the shift hours or the interval, a closed time that is no longer on the grid stays listed so you can reopen it ("Closed, but this time is no longer offered with the current hours and interval").
  • These settings apply to online booking only.

Troubleshooting

"X slot(s) are marked closed but this override is turned OFF, so they are currently OPEN in the widget." You closed times but the Per-slot availability override switch is off. Turn it on to enforce them, or use Open all to clear them.

"No slots could be generated for this shift. Check the shift hours and interval." The shift is shorter than one interval, or its hours are missing. Fix the hours in Settings › Location hours and shifts or choose a smaller interval.

The last half hour of a shift is never offered Times stop before the closing time. Set the shift to close later, or add a Last Booking Slot Time in Planning › Booking Rules.

Times like 18:15 appear although I want half hours only That shift has its own interval. Set it back to Use global default.
