Choose which sections fill first
Section fill priority ranks your sections, so automatic table assignment fills higher-priority sections first. For example: main room first, then the conservatory, the terrace last.
Where to find it
Backoffice › Planning › Booking Rules › Section fill priority.
What it does
- Lists your active sections with their colour and rank: Priority 1, Priority 2… or Unranked (lowest priority).
- Use the up and down arrows (Move section up / Move section down) to reorder.
- When 10Seat picks a table automatically (for example for an online booking), tables and table combinations in higher-ranked sections are preferred.
- The Host App's walk-in suggestions also prefer top-ranked sections.
How to fill the main room before the terrace
- Go to Planning › Booking Rules › Section fill priority.
- Use the arrows to move "Main Dining" to the top and "Terrace" to the bottom.
- Click Save in the "Unsaved booking rules" bar.
Good to know
- Priority changes which table a booking gets, not whether a time is bookable. A guest can still be seated in a lower section when the higher ones are full.
- Your team can always choose another table by hand.
- For per-table control (Primary, Secondary, Last), use Seating Management with the Order Priority add-on.
- Only active sections are listed. Create or reactivate sections in Table Management › Floor Plan.
Troubleshooting
"No active sections" — "Add or activate sections for this location to set fill priority." You have no sections yet, or they are inactive. A section without tables is deactivated; add tables to it in Table Management › Floor Plan.
Online bookings still go to the terrace first The higher-ranked sections may have no free table that fits the party for the whole duration, or their tables aren't online bookable. Check Capacity Planning › Online Reservable.
My new order isn't kept Make sure you clicked Save in the "Unsaved booking rules" bar. Saving the order needs an Owner or Admin account.
