Get reservation alerts in Telegram

Add-on: Telegram notifications (free)BackofficeFor managers

Needs: Admin role to enable the add-on; any backoffice user who can open Settings to connect the chat

With the free Telegram notifications add-on, 10Seat sends a short message to a Telegram chat when a new reservation is confirmed. You can send alerts to your own private chat or to a group your team is in.

Where to find it

  • Enable: Backoffice › Settings › Add-ons › Telegram notifications.
  • Connect and configure: Backoffice › Settings › Communications › Telegram (internal).

What it does

Once connected, the 10Seat bot posts to your chat:

  • a message for each new confirmed reservation that matches your When to notify choice;
  • a message when a reservation is cancelled;
  • a message when a guest sends a message in the reservation chat (if you use Guest Chat), following the same When to notify choice.

When to notify:

  • All reservations
  • Same day only (reservation date is today in the location timezone) — useful for walk-up and last-minute bookings.

How to set it up

  1. Go to Settings › Add-ons › Telegram notifications and click Enable Telegram (admins only). You see "Telegram notifications enabled".
  2. Click Open Communications, or go to Settings › Communications.
  3. Under Telegram (internal), click Connect Telegram. Then choose one option:
    • Option 1: Open directly — click Open in Telegram.
    • Option 2: Copy & share the link — click Copy and send the link to the person whose phone should connect.
    • Option 3: Scan QR code on phone.
  4. In Telegram, press Start. To use a group, add the bot to the group as Telegram asks. The page says "Waiting for connection…" and updates by itself.
  5. When you see Connected ("Sending alerts to …"), switch on Telegram reservation alerts and choose When to notify.
  6. Click Save.

To stop, click Disconnect or switch off Telegram reservation alerts and save.

Good to know

  • The add-on is free and set per location. Each location connects its own chat.
  • Alerts come from one shared 10Seat bot; your chat ID decides where they go.
  • Telegram alerts are separate from staff emails — you can use both.
  • Cancellation alerts are sent for every cancellation, regardless of the When to notify choice.

Troubleshooting

"Turn on Telegram in Add-ons first, then return here to choose chat, scope, and alerts." The add-on is not enabled for this location. Click Open Add-ons and enable it (admin role needed).

"Only admins can manage add-ons" Add-ons can only be switched on by a user with the Admin role — this currently also applies to the account Owner. Ask an Admin, or contact 10Seat support.

"Telegram bot is not configured on the server yet." or "Failed to generate connect link. Please try again." Connecting is temporarily unavailable. Try again later; if it persists, contact 10Seat support.

The page keeps saying "Waiting for connection…" Make sure you pressed Start in Telegram after opening the link, on the account or group you want to use. Generate a new link with Connect Telegram if needed.

Connected, but no alerts arrive Check that Telegram reservation alerts is switched on and saved. With Same day only, bookings for future dates don't trigger an alert. If the bot was removed from the group, disconnect and connect again.
