Use the notification bell (staff notifications)

Included — no add-on neededBackofficeEveryone

Needs: Any backoffice user

The bell in the backoffice header shows in-app alerts for your team: new reservations, changes and cancellations made by guests themselves, and a few payment and deposit warnings. Nothing needs to be set up.

Where to find it

  • Backoffice › bell icon in the top bar (Notifications). A badge shows the number of unread notifications.
  • Full list: open the bell and click View all notifications. The page is titled Notifications: "All staff notifications for your company, including read and unread."

What it does

  • New reservations — new bookings, with guest name, party size, date and time.
  • Guest changes and cancellations — when a guest changes or cancels their booking themselves (from their reservation link, or through Guest Coco in the chat). Changes made by your team are not listed, because you already know about them.
  • Deposit and payment alerts — for example when a guest paid an experience deposit but no table could be assigned, or when a payment arrives for a reservation that is no longer active. Act on these quickly: the guest has paid.

How to use it

  1. Click the bell to see the latest notifications.
  2. Click a notification to mark it as read. Click it again to open the reservation in Reservations on the right date.
  3. Use Mark all as read to clear the badge.
  4. On the full Notifications page, filter on All, Unread or Read, and use Load more notifications for older ones.

Good to know

  • Notifications are company-wide: you see alerts for all locations of your company, not only the selected one.
  • They are separate from staff emails and Telegram alerts, which you configure under Settings › Communications.
  • Read status is shared: when a colleague marks a notification as read, it is read for everyone.

Troubleshooting

I don't see a notification for a change I made That's expected — only changes and cancellations made by guests are listed.

Clicking a notification doesn't open the reservation The first click only marks it as read. Click it a second time.

"No notifications" There are no notifications yet for your company, or you're filtering on Unread with everything read. Switch the filter to All.

A notification is about another location Notifications cover your whole company. Switch to the right location in the header before acting on it.
