Change the order shifts appear in the booking widget

Available on all plansBackofficeFor managers

Needs: settings.widget (Owner and Admin by default)

If guests choose a shift (for example Lunch or Dinner) above the calendar in your booking widget, you can choose the order those shifts appear in. By default they are sorted by opening time.

Where to find it

Backoffice › Settings › Guest experience › Widget Management › Booking Rules tab › Combine shift + date step › Shift order in the widget.

What it does

  • Combine shift + date step: "When enabled, guests pick shift above the calendar on the date/time step. Leaving it unselected shows all availability."
  • When this is on and you have more than one shift, the Shift order in the widget list appears. Guests see the shifts above the calendar in this order.
  • Each row shows the shift's display name, plus the weekdays and hours it runs. "Every day" means the shift runs on all seven days.
  • Shifts with the same Widget display name look like a single label to guests, so they appear as one row ("2 services") and move together.

How to set it up

  1. Open Widget Management and go to the Booking Rules tab.
  2. Turn on Combine shift + date step.
  3. In Shift order in the widget, use the up and down arrows ("Move … up" / "Move … down") to set the order.
  4. Save with the button in the bar at the bottom of the page.
  5. To go back to sorting by start time, click Reset to time order and save.

Good to know

  • The order only matters when Combine shift + date step is on. Without it, guests see all available times together.
  • New shifts that aren't in your saved order are added after the ordered ones, sorted by time.
  • If you change a shift's hours later, it keeps its place in the order as long as its name stays the same.
  • Shift names and display names are set in Settings › Location hours and shifts.

Troubleshooting

I don't see "Shift order in the widget" Turn on Combine shift + date step first. The list also only appears when the location has more than one shift.

Two of my shifts move together and I can't separate them They have the same Widget display name, so guests see them as one label. Give them different display names in Settings › Location hours and shifts.

The widget still shows the old order Make sure you saved the Widget Management page. Then reload the page where the widget is placed.
