How guests join the digital queue and follow their place in line

Add-on: Digital queuingGuest appEveryone

Needs: Any staff user (guest-facing)

Walk-in guests scan your QR code (or open your join link) to join the queue without an app or account. They then follow their place in line on their phone.

Where to find it

Guest-facing: the join page opened from the QR code shown in the Host app Queue screen, and the status page linked in their email.

What it does

Join the queue – "No booking needed — we'll text and email you when your table is nearly ready."

  1. How many guests? – a party size within your limits. Larger groups see Larger party? with a request to contact you.
  2. Estimated wait and Your place in line (for example "2 parties ahead of you").
  3. Your details – first name, last name, email and phone are required; Notes (allergies, high chair, occasion) are optional.
  4. Join queue.

Queue status page

  • Live position ("You're next", "3 parties ahead") and Table ready in an estimated number of minutes. The page updates by itself; "You can close this page — we'll text and email you the moment your table is ready."
  • Your table is coming up soon when the party ahead is finishing.
  • Your table is ready – "Please head to the restaurant.", with Arrive before a time (the hold time you set).
  • A table just opened up – if you offer shorter tables: "It's free now, but only for … min". The guest can Take it or No thanks, keep my place.
  • Leave queue at any time.
  • You've been seated once the host seats them.

Good to know

  • The queue is for today only.
  • A guest who declines a shorter table keeps their position.
  • If the guest closes the page, they can reopen it from the link in their email.

Troubleshooting

"Please fill in your first name, last name, email, and phone" All four are required to join.

"Could not join queue" The queue is full, no table can take the party, the queue was switched off, or there were too many attempts from the same connection. Ask the guest to speak to the host.

"This queue entry is no longer active" The guest left, was removed, or was already seated. They can join again with the QR code.

"That table was just taken — you kept your place in line." Another party accepted the short-table offer first. Nothing changes for the guest.
