Work without tables (tableless capacity mode, beta)
Tableless mode lets you take online reservations on a number of seats instead of a floor plan. Bookings arrive without a table, and the Host App shows them as blocks on the timeline and in the list. This suits venues that don't plan tables in advance.
Where to find it
- Backoffice › Settings › Location Settings › Booking Settings › Work without tables (with Total seats).
- The same switch appears in Backoffice › Table Management › Floor Plan, and as Work without tables in Settings › Widget Management › Booking Rules tab.
What it does
- Total seats: how many guests can be seated in the restaurant at the same time. It is used for the room capacity in the Host App, and as the online limit when no separate online limit is set.
- With the mode on, online availability ignores your tables. Each time opens for every party size between your minimum and maximum party size, and closes when Max guests at the same time or Max guests per service in total is reached.
- Online limit: set in Widget Management › Booking Rules as "Max guests at the same time". It can be lower than your total seats but never higher. The panel shows "X of Y online" or "All Y bookable online".
- Pacing, cut-offs, closed slots, the booking window and your other booking rules still apply.
How to switch it on
- Go to Settings › Location Settings › Booking Settings.
- Enter your Total seats and click Save.
- Turn on Work without tables. You see "Saved".
- Optional: in Widget Management › Booking Rules, set Max guests at the same time lower than your total seats to keep room for walk-ins.
How to go back to tables
Click Use tables again on the "You're working without tables" banner in Table Management › Floor Plan, or turn the switch off. Your tables and floor plan are kept.
