Turn on the Advanced Guest App or Guest Chat add-on
The Advanced Guest App unlocks guest chat and self-service changes (party size, date and time) from the reservation link. Guest Chat is the chat on its own, without the other features.
Where to find it
- Backoffice › Settings › Add-ons › Advanced Guest App
- Backoffice › Settings › Add-ons › Guest Chat
What it does
Advanced Guest App includes:
- Guest chat linked to the reservation, with image and PDF attachments.
- Party size change requests from the reservation link.
- Date/time changes (switched on in Guest App Settings).
- Email notifications when you send a message.
- Access through the reservation's magic link, no guest account needed.
- Conversations visible in the Backoffice and the Host app.
Guest Chat offers only the reservation chat, without the other Advanced Guest App features. If you enable the Advanced Guest App, you do not need Guest Chat as well.
How to set it up
- Select the location in the header.
- Go to Settings › Add-ons and click Learn More (or Manage) on Advanced Guest App.
- Click Enable Advanced Guest App. You see "Advanced Guest App is enabled".
- Go to Settings › Guest App Settings to switch on Party Size Changes and Date/Time Changes and set their cut-offs.
- Reply to guest messages from the guest messaging pages in the Backoffice or the Host app.
To turn it off, click Disable Advanced Guest App. "Disabling this add-on keeps the standalone Guest Chat add-on available separately."
Good to know
- Add-ons are switched on per location.
- Experience changes in the guest app do not need this add-on.
- Guests never need to create an account.
Troubleshooting
"Only admins can enable add-ons." Your user does not have the Admin role. Ask a user with the Admin role, or contact 10Seat support.
I enabled it but guests still cannot change their party size The switch in Guest App Settings › Party Size Changes is off, the change cut-off has passed, or the booking has a deposit.
"Please select a location to enable this add-on." Choose a location in the header first; add-ons are per location.
